I have been slowly mapping the area within a 500-mile radius of Greenville, SC – from the seemingly infinite rolling hills of the Appalachian Mountains to dense cypress swamps and expansive marshes in the low country. With each trip, I discover a stunning spectacle that reveals itself in the clouds lifting from the valleys, the veiled waterfall tucked in the temperate rainforest, or an abandoned home left to collapse under the weight of Kudzu vines. And with each discovery, a culture defined by the South, slowly reveals itself.
My name is Salwa Farah, and I want to share these discoveries as I continue to explore my surroundings with my photography and writing. I look forward to hearing from you.
